Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
AskDad operates this website and related services. For privacy requests, use the contact information on our Contact page.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: such as email address, name, and authentication details when you sign up or log in.
- Profile & application data: information you provide as a customer or Dad applicant (e.g. bio, experience, vehicle and repair details you submit with a question).
- Messages & session content: chat messages and attachments you send through a session, stored so participants can use the service.
- Payment data: payments are processed by our payment partner (e.g. Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on AskDad servers; Stripe handles card data according to its own policies.
- Technical data: such as IP address, device/browser type, and cookies or local storage used to keep you signed in and secure the service.
3. How we use information
We use the data above to provide, secure, and improve AskDad; to match customers with Dads; to process payments; to communicate about your account or transactions; to enforce our Terms; and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Where data is processed
AskDad relies on service providers—for example Supabase (database and authentication) and Stripe (payments). Those providers process data under their agreements and security practices. Data may be stored in the United States or other regions where they operate.
5. Sharing
We share information with service providers as needed to run the platform, when required by law, or to protect rights and safety. Session content is visible to participants in that session (customer and assigned Dad) and to authorized staff tools (e.g. admin review) where necessary for operations or trust and safety.
6. Retention
We keep information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal and operational limits (e.g. completed transaction records).
7. Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us via the Contact page to make a request. You can sign out and clear site data in your browser to remove local session tokens.
8. Children
AskDad is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. Material changes may be highlighted on the site or by email where appropriate.
